Why marks outlast the spot
The spot clears in a week. The mark stays for months.
The acne goes fast, but the brown mark is still there three months on.
I assumed it would fade on its own. The ones I squeezed are clearly darker.
Make-up covers it, but I still see it in the mirror after washing.
One summer afternoon outside and the old marks look new again.
This is no longer acne — it is pigment left behind after the inflammation ended
When a spot becomes inflamed, the skin responds by producing more melanin in that area. The spot settles, the melanin does not, and it leaves on pigment's timescale — weeks and months, not days.
Which explains two things. First, a product made for acne does nothing for a mark, because there is no acne left to act on. Second, squeezing makes the mark deeper and longer-lasting, because it drives the damage further down and prolongs the inflammation.
And because this is pigment, sun darkens it exactly as it darkens melasma. A mark kept out of the sun fades noticeably faster than the same mark exposed daily.
Do not mix these two up
Mark left behind, or still breaking out?
The two tubes are both 20gr and look alike, but they are for two different stages. Using the wrong one does no harm — it simply does nothing.

Smart Target spot gel
235,000₫
- When to use it
- While the spot is raised and inflamed
- What it targets
- Skin with active breakouts
- Key actives printed on the pack
- Tamanu oil, Acnebusters 3%, BHA 0.5%, Sulfur, Zinc PCA
- How it goes on
- Dotted on each spot
- Can they be used together
- Yes — on inflamed spots, not overlapping
Plenty of people have both at once on the same face. Using both then makes sense, but on different areas rather than on top of each other.
If the spot has fully settled, below are the eight ingredients in this tube.
Before you order
Three kinds of post-acne mark, and which one this tube addresses
Not every mark left by acne is the same thing. Telling them apart first saves both money and time.
Best fit
Flat brown marks
Pigment left after inflammation, with the skin surface still smooth. This is what the tube was made for.
Needs more patience
Flat red or pink marks
Dilated vessels left after inflammation, not melanin. These usually fade on their own; brightening actives do little. Moisturising and sun protection do the work.
Not what you need
Indented or raised scars
A change in the structure of the skin, not in its pigment. No topical product fills an indented scar — that needs a clinic.

Where it sits in the day
Onto healed skin, after cleansing
Only on areas with no inflammation left. Layering it over an active spot puts both in the wrong place.
Morning
- Cleanse and pat dryDry skin keeps the gel on the area you intended.
- A thin layer over the marksNever skipFully healed areas only; avoid inflamed spots.
- MoisturiseWhatever you already use.
- SunscreenNever skipMarks darken in sun exactly as melasma does. Skipping this undoes every step above it.
Night
- Remove make-up and cleanseResidue traps dirt and slows the skin's own renewal.
- Pat dryDamp skin dilutes the gel.
- Apply over the marksNever skipSame amount as the morning.
- MoisturiseA healthy barrier renews more evenly.
Marks fade on the skin's renewal cycle, so count in weeks rather than days, and photograph from the same angle in the same light to compare — daily glances do not register slow change.
How to use
Three steps, evenings
The order and amounts are taken from the manufacturer's instructions.
Step 1
Cleanse
Wash and dry your face.
Step 2
Spread, or dab onto marks
Two or three pea-sized amounts cover the whole face. Massage gently until absorbed.
Step 3
Use every evening
This is an evening product; during the day you need sunscreen, or the marks will darken again.
Use once the spot has settled. Actively inflamed areas need a different step — and if blemishes are severe or persistent, that is a dermatologist's work.

FAQ
Questions people actually ask
How much is it?
215,000₫ for the 20g tube. Free delivery, pay on delivery.
How long until I see a difference?
We do not quote a figure. Post-blemish marks sit at very different depths depending on how inflamed things were, so one shared timescale would be wrong for most readers. What is more certain: without sun protection the marks darken faster than any product can soften them.
How is it different from Smart Brightening Cream?
The active families overlap — both carry tranexamic acid and niacinamide. They differ in format and area: this is a 20g gel for marks left after blemishes, the cream is 30g for the whole face over a longer routine.
Can I use it on an active breakout?
Not the right moment. This is the step after the spot has settled. Inflamed areas need something else.
How should it be stored?
Keep away from heat and direct sunlight, close after use, keep out of reach of children.

If new spots are still appearing
Old marks and new spots usually coexist. Two different jobs, two different products.
